A young woman was allegedly sexually assaulted in Bengaluru, allegedly by a man with a history of abusing women.
The incident took place on December 19, when a man was reportedly on his way to the local mall and approached a woman in the market area.
The woman, who was alone, told the man that she had a crush on him and was scared.
She then started to walk towards the mall.
The man approached her and sexually assaulted her, allegedly on the pretext of picking up her daughter.
The victim told police that she did not want to get involved with him and approached the police.
The police registered an FIR and a case has been registered against the accused.
The accused, who has been identified as Prakash, had a long-standing history of sexual harassment and assault, according to the police report.
In 2015, he was booked under the Panchayati Raj (Vigilance Act) and the Protection of Women from Sexual Offences Act (PWSA) by a woman for allegedly molesting her in his presence at a public park in Pune.
In 2017, he got bail and is yet to appear in court.
